Aging and the Women’s Psyche

Let’s explore how we can rid ourselves of negative feelings about the aging process. “I feel like an expiring loaf of bread”. Feel free to bring along a reading (or a joke!) which inspires you, or something for our circle center that reminds you of the child still lurking within.

Circle of Friends Book Club

June’s selection was Ties That Bind by Marie Bostwick.  The group really enjoyed reading this book about relationships: friends, family, church and community.  The book brought up many interesting topics from lost love to a domineering parent to a sister dying too young and a child left without her mother.  It also captured the essence of women’s friendships and how they grow stronger as they support each other through life’s many challenges.  We would definitely recommend this book to take along to the beach or where ever this summer takes you.

The book club will enjoy its annual excursion to Barnes & Noble on Friday, July 13th where we will peruse the shelves to select books for the coming year.  This is always an adventure and we end up with lists of must-reads that stretch well beyond the scope of book club.  Everyone is invited back to Cathy’s house for lunch and a celebration of our Circle of Friends.
